As a kid I was made to walk the plank…..we couldn’t afford a dog
Less than 3 weeks..
Less than three weeks to go so now I can officially start packing! Ok, so I have already.. everything is laid out and some of it is even in the case. Yes, I am excited. Who wouldn’t be!
too much?
I may have overdone things today. I can’t help it. I don’t like not being able to do everything I want to do but I don’t have a choice. The MS always wins. I will be fit for my travels though.. I am determined about that.
Worn..
Today I finally managed to convince my son that his trainers were worn out.. and I have thrown them in the bin. I think he has accepted it..
Countdown..
Four weeks. In fact.. four weeks now and I’ll be almost in Dubai.. somewhere over Turkey I reckon. I am so looking forward to it.
And this week I will mainly be playing around with the new compact camera as it does manual and so far I am very impressed with that setting.. more so than the ‘intelligent auto’ that is so easy to rely on. 28 sleeps…
January is not a time for sprees. It is a moment for bean counting.
Packing decisions..
Today I’m trying to decide what clothing I need for my five week adventure to the other side of the world. An easy task you might think, but no.. space and weight limit everything and I should only take the things I will be wearing as there’s no room for ‘maybes’. It will be warm so at least there’s no wooly jumpers to worry about.. oooh warm.. nice..
Racing..
Off to Newcastle Races today. Phyllis is running in the first race which is always good as they get the best ground - especially today when the going is soft. Fingers crossed for a good outcome and that she gets past the finish post safe and sound..
Rubbish!
Saturday television is really rubbish. It’s that bad I’m contemplating doing the ironing to cheer myself up! Oh well.. there’s always Bejewelled, and that please me..
some days you’re a bug..
some days you’re a windscreen..
brave..
I braved the icy roads today and drove down to Newcastle to see our MS racehorse, Hannah Jacques, run in her first hurdle race. The ground was soft.. sticky and yukky and out of the fifteen horses that started only 8 actually finished. Unfortunately ours was one that was pulled up.. but we live to fight another day [as they say].
The sky has gone..
SKY TV that is. And good ridence to it. I say that because I hate to think about the amount of money they have had from us over the past few years.. and yes, I have enjoyed their channels on the odd ocassion.. LOST being one of those times. Saying that, ODD and LOST are both appropriate words to describe how the program left me feeling. Then there’s the Atteraces channel - I will miss that.....
routine..
I need to get into an exercise routine again.. so far two days in a row.. that’s good. I have a few pounds to shift, five would be good, so here goes..
